Barbara joined our staff in November of 2003. Her dedication to her work is noticed and appreciated by the staff and clients alike. Barb stays busy in her off hours by gardening, sewing, and spending time with her granddaughter. She’s also a huge Royals fan.
Southside Pet Hospital’s experienced support staff of Client Care Specialists, Certified Veterinary Technicians, Animal Health Technicians, and Animal Care Assistants strive to provide personalized, compassionate care for our patients and clients alike.
Valerie obtained her MBA through MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2013. Prior to coming to Southside in 2014, she worked as a veterinary technician, assistant, and receptionist. She also spent time as a director in higher education. Her goal is to help facilitate great customer service for Southside clients so they are better able to participate in managing their pet’s health. She is passionate about leading the Southside team towards the future and integrating new technologies and services to improve both the clients and pet’s experiences.
When not at work, Valerie spends most of her time with her husband Mark and their two daughters. As a family, they enjoy the lake, traveling, and being outdoors. Casey has been a part of the Southside team since 2013. She is a devoted doggie mom to Sebastian, Spaz, and Spencer. Our clients adore Casey’s cheerful attitude and her understanding of the human animal bond. When she’s not spending time with her Southside family, Casey loves to travel and visit her family back in Michigan. Be sure to give Casey a friendly hello the next time you’re visiting!
Casey started as an animal caretaker in 2007 and moved to a position at the front desk in 2008. She is an integral part of our team and enjoys building personal relationships with all our clients! She and her husband make their home with their three daughters and their five furry canine friends. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, attending demolition derbies, and playing/coaching softball.
Melissa joined the Southside family in 2017. She comes to us with 17 years of experience as a technician including emergency and specialty skills. When she’s not working, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and children, reading, and watching movies. She has Schnauzers and cats at home that she loves to spoil.
Daria is a great addition to our staff. She graduated from Maple Woods Veterinary Technician Program in 1996. She is very proficient in the surgery, lab, and dental areas! She has been invaluable to support our doctors with monitoring hospital and surgery patients as well as performing dental procedures. Daria lives with her husband and a new kitten. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, baking, quilting, and being a grandma!
Maddy joined our team in 2017, bringing sunshine and cheer right along with her. She graduated from Brown Mackie in 2015 with an Associates Degree in Applied Animal Science and is knowledgeable in all aspects of patient care. Our patients love Maddy’s extra care and attention. She’s been known to crawl into cages and snuggle pets as they’re recovering from anesthesia! During her downtime, Maddy loves cuddling with her Cocker Spaniel, Remy and sweet cat Sophia.
Stephanie graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Colby Community College in 2015. She loves dentals and laboratory work. When you visit us, you’ll be sure to love her sunny disposition and great attitude. When not at Southside, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her own furry family member, Agnus!
Mindy joined Southside Pet Hospital in 2015. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our clinic but her caring and compassionate bedside manner is most appreciated by all of our patients. If you look closely, you may see her dog Pocahontas roaming around the clinic. Be sure to say hello if you see her!
Our kennel staff are trained and professional attendants who love spending time with your pet. When not in the clinic, many of our kennel attendants are pursuing their education and spending time with their own critters.
